A vocal advocate of axiomatic method in mathematics, Hilbert is perhaps best known to the general public for the famous \"List\" he put forth in 1900, which challenged the mathematics community to find the solution of 23 long-standing unsolved problems. In the present paper, Hilbert sets out his philosophy of the infinite and attempts to prove the Continuum Problem. He critically examines Cantor\'s theory of Transfinite Numbers in the process and affirms Cantor\'s theory of Transfinite Numbers to be \"the finest product of mathematical genius\" – Hilbert here famously declaring that \"No one will drive us from the paradise which Cantor created for us!\"
